Stage two (cycling from Japan to Europe) of my world circumnavigation is about to commence. I’m going pro on Facebook with this dedicated page for the journey: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Earth-Odyssey/152143244868652?sk=wall
I have some big adventures planned for the next stage and I’m really looking forward to living the simple life again. Expedition updates and blog entries will be channelled to the Facebook page. You can now also connect with the journey on twitter: https://twitter.com/#!/worldodyssey
Both pages will only feature expedition related content.

Hi Benji
Our friend Kobayashi Kiichiro san is sleeping in the warmest arms of The Father now. No more suffering, no more pain, no more cancer… He fought and fought until his last breath. He deserves to sleep in peace now. We would like to give him tons of words of comfort. If you can send me within tomorrow (Japan’s time), your words will comfort him in his cremation.
Thanks a lot
Atsuka
Atsuka, I’m deeply saddened to hear this news. In my absence I write these few words to my friend.
Dear Kiichiro, it was eight years ago now that we first met and I liked you from the outset as did, I’m sure, your many friends and especially those from the international community that you so warmly embraced. You embodied all the generosity, selflessness and humour that’s so engrained in the Japanese character. You were truly someone who knew just how special a gift life is and although your time was cut short you spent it well, with dignity and compassion.
You were responsible for a huge part of my wonderful experience in Japan and I will feel forever fortunate to have had your friendship and support over these years. Though you will no longer be there in body, I will carry your spirit and memory with me into the mountains of Hokkaido and to all the distant peaks I shall from now venture.
RIP my dear friend. I will miss you!
Benji
